Sugar Nellie DT - Poinsettia Girl

Hello! How are you all today? Hope you all had a good weekend? Seems most of you were all at the NEC show! Looks like a wonderful time was had by all !

Well we had a lovely time at a local fireworks show on Saturday night which ended with me scraping someone elses car...YUK!! I have felt sick all weekend about it! People get so angry about their cars...Anyway I have spent today sorting it all out :(

Onto happier things.....a lovely package of wonderful new Sugar Nellie stamps arrived on Friday! Have you checked out all the new releases at FunkyKits?? So much to choose from and something for everyone! This month there are new releases from Mary Hall, Diane Duda, and Leanne Ellis and all perfect for your Christmas cards and projects.

So for my DT card I have chosen to colour Poinsettia Girl from Leanne Ellis. She is coloured with prisma pencils and I have followed the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers. I have had some clear acetate snowflakes in my stash since last year which I painted with white acrylic paint and then I added glitter while it was still wet. The papers are MME ' Be Merry' and the sentiment is Whiff of Joy.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are enjoying some beautiful crisp winter weather like we are here! Simply stunning with everything covered in a layer of white frost!

Whiff Of Joy Challenge

Well it has been such a long time since I entered the Whiff of Joy Challenge, but I have got some of last years stamps from them that I just adore, 'Charlie and the Snowman' being one of them! I really enjoyed working with the sketch and I have coloured Charlie with copics but I have done the background with prismas. Hopefully you can see I have glittered the snow on the ground.

The papers I have used for this card are MME 'The Merry Days of Christmas' and I have distressed most of the edges. The stars are plain wooden stars you can buy at Quixotic Paperie which are so much fun to alter. I have painted them with 'Picket Fence' Crackle paint and then once dry I have painted with Shimmerz Blingz. Excuse my squint metal sentiment....funny hoe you only notice these things once the photo is uploaded!

I am quite happy to be posting this in the evening when it is dark outside..why ..??? An early birthday present arrived for me today and being impatient I opened the box and used it! I'm sure you can guess I have got a light tent!! I was getting disappointed in the quality of my photos during these dark, dreary days and I am very pleased with the result now!

Well what have you got planned for the weekend?? We are off to a children's birthday party in the morning and then a fireworks display in the evening and on Sunday after church we are out to friends for lunch! Should be fun!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 23 - My Sketch!

Good morning and welcome to another Sugar Bowl Challenge and this week it was my turn to draw the sketch and I chose the theme of 'Thankfulness'. So for this you could make a 'Thank you' card or you could make one for Thanksgiving if you are one of our friends across the pond, or make a card to give to someone you are thankful for!

I chose to make a 'Thank You' card and I coloured one of the fabulous Gorjuss girls from Set 1 called 'Sent with Love'. She is coloured with copics. The papers are all Cosmo Cricket ' Earth Love'. These papers are just full of my favourite earthy colours.

I have made one of those e, ribbon and wooden brads are from my stash!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have time to join us this week in the Sugar Bowl. This weeks prize is a surprise selection from Funky Kits!! Don't forget to stop and see what all the other sweeties have made..you are sure to be inspired!

Quixotic Challenges #1 - Birthdays!

Welcome to the very first Quixotic Paperie Challenge! This week our theme is Birthdays, as our very own Elaine is celebrating her own today!

Just to remind you that we will be setting a new challenge each week and at the end of the month a prize will be given from all the entries from that month. So the more times you enter the more chance you have of winning! You can also combine this challenge with as many others as you wish and there are no restrictions on the stamps you can use.

So I hope you can find the time to join us!

My card today features one of the new releases from Ladybug and Friends and is aptly called 'Birthday Surprise' called and is available from Quixotic Paperie. She is coloured with prisma pencils. I didn't have any bling to match my colours so the adhesive gems are coloured with a copic marker to match!

The papers are Fancy Pants 'Summer Soiree'. I have made the bow using the Bow Easy which is available from Quixotic Paperie. Elaine sent us all one to try and if you look back at my cards you will see I rarely use a bow..why?? ..because I can't!!! Now, I have to say I made this bow after my first time using it and I love it...it stays in place and doesn't come undone as I am sticking it down. I am really pleased with how professional it looks! You might just be seeing a few more bows on my cards now! I have followed the sketch from this weeks Mojo Monday!
Thanks for stopping by this afternoon. I hope you find some time to play along this week and to celebrate Elaine is giving you all 10% off everything in her store until 8th November! So, if you have had your eye on anything, now is the time to get it!

Catch you all later, Judy x

Surprise!

Hello my crafty friends! I hope the weather with you is better than here. We are drowning in rivers of rain!

However once the kids are into school it is nice to settle down into a 'housey' kind of day. Do you know what I mean?? The heating on, lights on, a cup of coffee, a bit of housework and a bit of crafting. Mmmm..sounds good!

The card I have to show you today is one of Mo's images and it is the free one she gave away on her PCP group for having 500 members! Go MO Go! Also today Janny and Dena have also made a card with the same image. When we all saw it we loved it!

She is coloured with copics and I have added stickles to the confetti. The sentiment is a rub-on and I found the square brads in my stash! A little bit of crochet ribbon between the layers and that is it!

Not much else to this card..I have left the image large to take centre stage ...no patterned paper on this one!!

If you have time go and check out Janny and Dena's cards..I always love what those girls come up with! You won't be disappointed!

Have a cozy day!

Autumn days Class at Simply Create

Well, my first class has come and gone and I loved doing it! We were using the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit and the Basic Grey Indian Summer papers...two of my very favourite things!
(excuse my bad piccie!)

We made 2 cards and a mini pizza box with little notelets inside. We didn't have time to make the Blessings box...time ran away, so the ladies got the instructions home with them . The ladies who came were just lovely and very kind to me. It requires a bit of practice I think to take what you do in your own home and then explain it to others how to do it.
Anne, Jacqui's new assistant, had crocheted gorgeous flowers to match the papers so the ladies all got to use them on their card and she is also making felt snowflakes to use in my next class! Talented lady!
My next class is on Dec 5th at 1:30pm in Simply Create, Alford and a wee hint is that it will be a Gorjuss Christmas! And we will be using my most favourite Christmas papers this year!! I will also be teaching colouring and blending with prismas.
If you live in the NE of Scotland and would like to come, get in touch with Jacqui on 019755 64010.
Back soon with a card!

Sugar Nellie DT - Mary Hall

Hello my luvely friends!
How are we all today? I have a project to show you today that has been sitting on my desk for weeks and I finally put it all together last night. So, now I can clean and tidy up ready for my next creation:)
I have made a little gift folder using one of the new Mary Hall stamps from Sugar Nellie. This one is called Boy Reading. I thought the gift folder would be ideal for putting in a book voucher and giving as a gift. This one will be going in my etsy shop tomorrow. I am going to hopefully get time tomorrow to list loads of cards for sale. it has been neglected for a few weeks.
I have coloured the image with prisma pencils and instead of blending with Sansador I tried blending with the colourless pencil you get with some of the tins. It worked really well much to my surprise! ALMOST as well as Sansador.
The papers I have used are all BG 'Recess'...a great little pack to have for all our 'male' cards. The little metal tag I have used is from Tim Holtz and is just one of the goodies I got at the SECC last week. I also bought grunge paper and grunge board and have been having a wee play. I will show soon :)

The sentiment and the buttons are all from Quixtoic Paperie. Just to let you know...Quixtoic Paperie have a big surprise planned for next week. So keep your eyes peeled and all will be revealed soon :0
OK enough blabbering. I have a lot to do today. My first class at Jacqui's in Alford is tonight. I am VERY excited but also a little fluttering of nerves too!

Just Magnolia

Hello everyone! I am so excited that the sun is finally out and I got a piccie out in the autumn sunshine.

I finally found time to join in the Just Magnolia challenge and it is a fabulous sketch by the lovely Martine. These images were sent to me by a dear friend last Christmas and I never had a chance to use them. So I finally got to use them on a card a year later.

I have coloured Tilda with copics and added a few highlights with white ink pen. I get a few questions asking which one I use and my favourite is Inkessentials. I will list the copics I have used at the bottom of this post. I don't promise to do it every time, but when I have time I am happy to do so. If you find it helpful please let me know as if it is not useful then I won't bother :)
If you are eagle-eyed you will spot I forgot to colour the seal on the parcels...it is now rectified!

My papers are Bo Bunny and the sentiment is a rub-on. The big snowflake is a Provocraft die and the little ones are from a Martha Stewart punch. All of them are covered with 'Frosted Lace' stickles.

I have stitched most of the layers together but don't look too closely as it was not behaving very well last night!

Thanks for popping by and all the lovely comments you leave. I wish I had enough hours in the day to come by and visit you all. I try to do as many as possible, but please forgive me if I haven't stopped by your blog. I will try my best :)

Ladybug and Friends now at Quixotic Paperie

I have just heard from Elaine that the Ladybug and Friends stamps have now arrived at Quixotic Paperie. So if you like the image here called ' Hello Sunshine' , scroll down to see the example below. I just loved colouring this one in.

Elaine also has the new Christmas Ladybug and Friends collection which I am off to peruse now. I'm sure there will be a few on my wish list!!

catch ya later,
Judy x

Just one person.....

Good morning and I hope you are all ready for another new week. I have just safely packed my 2 eldest off to school and I am looking forward to the relative peace and quiet of just one this morning. We just had the most awful week weather wise up here in Aberdeenshire, so now the schools are back, the sun is finally popping its head out!

Right, onto my card. I have seen quite a few of these easel style cards around in blogland and I wanted to try one for myself. It is refreshing to make something other than a square card.

This image which I think is my most favourite EVER is from Ladybug and Friends. I love these two hugging. They could be sisters or friends. So it won't be long till you see another card with this pair on it! They are coloured with prismas.
The papers are Crate 'Sweet Branch' Collection. The sentiment is from Paper Makeup stamps and is available from Quixotic Paperie. I just love that sentiment. Before my sister left to go abroad to the Phillipines, she gave me a card with that sentiment on it. So when I see that quote I think of her. Love you and miss you Rach!

Thanks for popping by!

Sugar Bowl #22 - Kathy's Sketch

Good morning and welcome to another Sugar Bowl Challenge!! This time we have a lovely sketch from Kathy and her chosen option is lace ..nice and easy!!

The prize for this challenge is the brand new set of Leanne Ellis stamps. Have you seen the sneaky peeks on the Sugar Nellie blog this week?? Well Annie is back, along with a couple of her more arty style which I am a big fan of!
My card today features 'Poinsettia', one of the new Christmas Manga's. She has been coloured with copics and I have added some liquid pearls to the centre of the flowers. The music note paper is from Making Memories and is called 'Fa La La' and is fantastic. Why did I only buy one sheet of it??

The flower is made from Kraft cardstcok and retro flower punches. They are crumpled and then I have inked the edges with white acrylic paint...as I have seen so beautifully done on Kathy's cards! The pearl brad and crochet ribbon (or lace ..for this challenge..LOL) are both from Quixotic Paperie.

Thanks for stopping by. While you are reading this I will be in Glasgow meeting up with Gayle and a few others and doing some crafty shopping at the Hobbycrafts show. I can't wait to put a face to the name! I am dragging along my sister Vickie who is a fellow crafter, but not blogger. I'm afraid she might think we are all bonkers!!

back soon,
Hugs Judy xx

My card today is based on the sketch by Carole over at Friday Sketchers and I have used some lovely October Afternoon papers.

Danni is coloured with pencils and I have added some shimmerz for the wings which you can see on the photo at an angle.

Sugar Nellie DT

Well hello there girlies...it's been a few days and I have missed you all! It has been a busy family time and it will continue to do so for the next week, but I have a couple of cards ready to show you for the next few days :)

Todasy card is another mini blog hop with Janny and Dena.. This time we all got different Country Cousins in our Sugar Nellie DT kit so we decided we would do a colour challenge. We choose a burgundy/ forest green colour combo and one of the Christmas Country Cousins.

I chose to colour Winter Wonderland and she is coloured with pencils with lots of extra stickles and glitter :) I have stamped and cut-out the umbrella again so that I could make it 3D. Sorry the photo is a bit poor.

Now with that combo the set that came to mind was Basic Grey 'Wassail'. I have followed the sketch over at Truly Scrumptious but then realised the extra option was Autumn, so I won't be entering it.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have time to see what the other girlies have made. I can't wait to see!

Have a great day,
Judy x

Last night Marlene hosted a Scrap Online which she very kindly posted hints for on her blog. It was great fun!!

So this is what my card worked out like! It is the fastest card I have made..ever!! So thanks for a fun evening Marlene!! Hope you will do it again soon.

I used this gorgeous hAnglar girl that was sent to me by my very sweet Swedish friend Anki. Thanks :))) She is coloured with copics and the highlights are done with Ranger Inkessentials white ink pen. The papers are all Cosmo Cricket...beautiful colours and I am sad cox they are nearly all done :(I'm still painting today so better not yak for too long!

Happy Wednesday!!

Hello ladies! Just a flying visit today! I covered in 'Soft Truffle'........paint that is!!!! My kids have gone to visit their Granny and Grandpa so I have wasted no time. I popped to B & Q this morning and bought a Paint Pod system...Love it!! No drips and spills and it even cleans the roller for you at the end :) So my living room should be done in a couple of days.

Onto my card...I have used one of the Moody girls available in Quixotic Paperie and she is coloured with copics. The stars have been covered with a Copic glitter pen.....so they sparkle! I have distressed the edges very carefully with Black Soot Distress ink. The sentiment is also from Paper Makup stamps and can be found also at Quixotic Paperie. It is placed very particularly over a little bit of the ink that smudged (but hey you didn't need to know that!).The papers are a mixture I found in a scraps bag so I can't tell you who they are from. The flower is from my stash and the pearls are from Prima. Do you like the flower centre?/ Well you can find that at Quixotic Paperie too!!!

Thanks for stopping by to have a look!

Hope your day is going well!

A Spoon Full Of Sugar - Guest DT

Good Morning! Today I have had the privelage of being asked to be the Guest DT on this weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar. Thanks girls so much for asking me! I am honoured to be part of your team for this week!

This week we have been given a sketch challenge from Caryn. I loved it! And we are being sponsored by the very talented Mo Manning. I don't think I need to introduce who she is. She very kindly provided an image for each of the DT to work with.

I have used Snowman and I knew I wanted to use my MME 'Be Merry' papers. Love those colours in that pack!

The snowman is coloured with copics and I have used pencils to give him a gentle background. I find it easier to use pencils to give a soft gentle background around the image. They blend nicely to white with a bit if Sansador and a pencil stump. The sentiments is Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Judy x

I have of course used lots of stickles for the ground and for the snowflakes. I have use some Tulle which I bought from Quixotic Paperie and added some pins and pearls to it.

Toboggan!

Hello there!! How are we today?? I hope you have had a lovely weekend. I have had a lovely one...a few jobs here and there and I picked some new wallpaper and paint for my living-room. YEAH...I am going to get that job done when my kiddos go to their Grannies for a couple of days.

I just want to share with you a card I have made with one of Mo's fabulous images. I loved this image and bought it yonks ago but just haven't had the chance to colour it.

This week Janny and I are both colouring the same image (Dena has a family emergency and will be back soon!) and you can go check what she has done with it. It is not the same without Dena but you won't be disappointed when you hop across the pond to visit Janny!!

Toboggan is coloured with copics and lots of stickles!! Can I just say I thought this was going to be really tricky to colour but it just kinda came alive as I was colouring it. The papers are all basic Grey 'Dasher' collection and the sentiment is a rub-on.

Thanks for stopping by and any comments you leave. Have a great day,
Judy x

Though I'm sure we won't be digging up any tatties but I am looking forward to some more leisurely days and hopefully a little bit of sunshine!

I have coloured the image with a mixture of copics and pencils ( it all depends what shades I need as I build up my collection of copics!). I have added some Martha Stewart Coarse glitter to the ground.

I Love you.....

Good Morning..and if you have had your eyes and ears closed all week..then let me tell you that today is World Card Making Day!!

In honour of this celebration Elaine from Quixotic Paperie is very kindly giving the DT some blog candy to give away on each of our blogs!! More about that in a minute!

For my card today I have use one of the stamps from the Paper Pretties range called Cooper 'Love you this much'. This set is on special offer now with a massive 35% off. It also comes with 4 matching sentiments. Great value!!

I loved using this image because it reminds me off a book we have that we used to read to the boys. I'm sure lots of you out there will know the one I mean. Little Rabbit says to Mummy rabbit 'I Love you' and she says 'I love you more'. Little Rabbit says to Mummy Rabbit 'I love you to the Moon' and then Mummy Rabbit replies 'I love you to the moon and back!'. Totally adorable! And what a wonderful way to express your limitless love for your kids.

So anyway I hope you like my card...I used a copic airbrush can for the first time on this image...please excuse my splodges!! And man.....the whole can is empty after one use.....not good!! So might not be using that again! LOL! If anyone knows how to make it last a bitty longer any tips will be welcome.

So, onto the blog candy. If anyone wishes to win this gorgeous Paper Pretties stamp called Sophia, a lovely bag of mixed charms and a bag of pearls, all you need to do is leave a comment at the bottom of this post. I will leave the candy open for one week and will pick a random winner next Saturday.
Oh I nearly forgot to tell you Elaine is having a weekend special of 10% of everything in her store (except pre-orders) to celebrate World Card Making Day. Go on and check it out here!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend,
Judy x

Sugar Nellie...anything but a card!

Hello my crafty friends. Thanks for coming by today! Today I have a challenge to show you that Janny set myself and Dena! She challenged us to use the Sugar Nellie image of the girl with the deer from the Autumn kit and to make something other than a card.

I decided to make a Christmas Planner. I had an undecorated chipboard album which I have had for yonks and yonks! I added tabs to several of the pages to create sections like: Cards, Presents Received, Presents Sent and Food. There is plenty room to add more pages and more sections.

I have coloured the image with my trusty prismas. The cover of the planner has been decorated with gold American Craft thickers, some ponsetias (eeek spelling???)and some scrapping stickers.

I am going to be adding this to my Etsy shop later today! I have one of these books already! Mine is a boring Lakeland one but when it is done I will make myself a handmade one. I find them very useful for keeping track of everything I need to do for Christmas, being a list kinda girl!

My good news for today is that my Jury Duty is cancelled!! Woooo hoooo! I was worrying a lot about my kids and their routines and picking them up and dropping them off. I feel like a big burden has been lifted from me! Thanks to all of you who sent me sympathy and to those of you who told me their own Jury horror stories!!

Now don't forget to drop my my lovely USA friends Dena and Janny and check out what they have made for the 'Anything but a card' challenge!

Back soon,
Hugs Judy xx

Merry and Bright

Morning girlies! Today is going to be very brief! I have been called for Jury Duty and it begins tomorrow. So I do not know how long it will last or anything...hopefully I'll be back home before lunch tomorrow and not be needed, but we will see.....

So today I am trying to cram in everything I needed to do this week and get the house ready for my MIL arriving tonight. She will be looking after the kids while I am away.

So please excuse me if I am a little absent this week ! You will know why!

Anyway this card is the made using Mistletoe and is one of the new Christmas Manga stamps from Sugar Nellie. These cuties are coloured with copics and highlighted with a white ink pen.
I had started using the sketch from this weeks Mojo Monday but as often happens with me I ended up placing some of the elemnets in different places!

The papers I have used are Cosmo Cricket 'Jolly by Golly'...mmmm..yum! Bot much else to say about this card!

I will be back tomorrow with a challenge from Janny, Dena and myself! Which will be scheduled of course as I might be sitting in a courtroom!

Chat soon, Judy xx

On Saturday I had the great privelage of attending a couple of classes with the very talented Melodee Langworthy. She has come all the way over from the US and is teaching classes here in little old Scotland and in Alford, Aberdeeshire. So how could I NOT go with it being just a few miles down the road!

She was doing mini albums with us...scrapping is something I have never really dabbled in but I thoroughly enjoyed putting these albums together. They are still a work in progress. I do not have photos to add yet but they will not be left as unfinished projects!! Melodee is such a great inspiration and a wonderful lady to work with.

Sugar Nellie DT - Autumn Kit

Hellooooooooo crafty friends..just a quick one I want to share today. I have a ragingly sore throat and I feel zapped off all energy. Typically the kids are off school today for the September weekend. I had planned lots of things to do with them today but poor little things have played the Wii for hours and jumped on the trampoline for the rest...not being very entertaining today I'm afraid :(

I am so loving the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit and just had to colour the remaining images. I also have some gorgeous Autumny papers from Pink Paislee that just had to be used!! For the layout I used the sketch from this weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar....thanks it was brill!

For the image I have used a mixture of prismas and copics and as usual have used my trusty sewing machine for adhering the layers together.

Just a wee close up of the prima flower I used. it is spritzed with glimmer mist..but it is not showing up too well in the photo.

Before I toodle off I want to thank the lovely girls over at The Divine Influence for featuring me today as their Divine Crafter! What a real honour!!I will display my badge with pride :)Not sure if my hubbie would agree with the staement or not!! LOL!!

A few people have asked about the instructions for the Chocolate Box I made for the Sugar Bowl yesterday. I am putting together some intructions and I will have them ready in a day or two!

Have a nice weekend everyone! Don't forget to enter my blog candy....click on the piccie on the sidebar! 2 days left to enter!

Sugar Bowl #20 - Gayle's Sketch

Good morning and welcome to Challenge #20 at the Sugar Bowl!! The weeks are just flying in!
This week Gayle has created for us another super sketch with the extra option of paper piecing. Thanks my dear! Loved it!

This time you can win a pick 'n' mix of your choice of stamps from Sugar Nellie. Woooo!

Now, I decided it was high time I stepped out of my comfort zone of square cards and made a 3D project. I want to thank Tab for the inpsiration. A few weeks ago on her blog I spied a wonderful chocolate box that she had made and I knew I would have to try one of them very soon!
So I had a go! Now all my presents are going to have to arrive in a box ...I can't go back to plain old wrapping paper again.

For my chocolate box I used one of the 'It's a Girl Thing' fundraiser stamps from Sugar Nellie from which 100% the proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research.

I used the beautiful stamp donated by Diane Duda called 'Pure of Heart'.

I sooooooo love this stamp and I will use it again and again!! I paper pieced it with some glittery Doodlebug paper and coloured the rest of her in with copics and prismas. I love using a mixture of them both on my images now!

The stitching round the image is faux. My sewing machine was playing up and making everything wonky...so it is in disgrace for the time being!

The flowers have been glimmer misted and I scrunched up a Tim Holtz ticket for the sentiment.

Don't forget to stop by the other girls blogs for some fantastic inspiration! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by! I love to read all your lovely comments :)

A Week of Whimsy

This week on Quixtoic Paperie we are spotlighting some of the stamp ranges held in the shop. This week it is the turn of Whimsy stamps. I just adore the quirky animals!

For my project today I needed a card for my Dad. It is his birthday really soon. I loved the theme on Cute Card Thursday of hidden elements and decide to go with that! I used the whimsical duck image and he is coloured with prisma pencils. I added some glossy accents for the water.

The papers are all MME 'Oh La La ' for Him...perfect colours to match my duck and are available at Quixotic Paperie.

My first hidden element is the tag at the front and the second is the pocket I made for his Amazon gift voucher. The tag element is made using Verve stamps that I ordered for Father's day but arrived too late..so finally I get to use them now!

Nothing too complicated or fancy on this card! I think my Dad will apreciated the clean and uncluttered look!

Oh..the sentiment is one I computer generated myself!

Have a fab day and thank for checking out my Whimsy project! You can check out the rest of the Quixotic Paperie DT Whimsy projects over on Elaine's blog!

Don't foget to enter my blog candy on my sidebar!

Catch you all tomorrow for the Sugar Bowl! Still one day left to get your cards in to be in with a chance of winning all the cute new Mary Hall stamps!

MUM, RACH and VICK...if you are reading this ...shhhhh!!

Crafty Cardmakers Guest DT

Hiya! Hope you are all doing well today! I have been very lucky and have been asked to be a Guest DT for a fairly new blog called Crafty Card Makers. It has been set up with new card makers in mind and features very helpful tutorials and techniques. Vix approached me and asked me to be Guest DT for this week.

Their theme this week is 3D elements. I decided to use Apple Emma which is available at Quixotic Paperie. I had decided to make an Autumy card but this has ended up as very summery fresh colours!! I'm not complaining! The weather has given us one last blast of summer over here in the UK , so why not with my card!!

I stamped the image 3 times and coloured, cut and layered the elements. This photo her shows the 3D effect. All the apples are covered with glossy accents.

The inside has been decorated and I have stamped the extra apple on the inside. I have followed the sketch from Truly Scrumptious and followed the extra option of using 3 stamps, not including the sentiment. My 3 stamps are the Apple Emma and the 2 extra apples that you get with the image....does that count as 3??

Sorry about the bad inside piccie..took it today and it is sooooooooo grey!

Anyway enough blethers. Thanks for stopping by.
Don't forget to have an apple today!

Autumn Leaves

Well hello there! How are you this morning? I hope you have a relaxing weekend ahead...mine is full of 'to do' jobs but then it will be great when they are all done.
Now what to watch tonight...Strictly or X Factor??? So shallow I know!! The big decisions of life eh??

Anyway this morning I have to show you another of the gorgeous images from the Sugar Nellie Autumn Kit. This time I coloured in the little boy. He is coloured with prismas but I did the grass with copics. I just adore these images.. ..must be one of my favourite illustrators for Sugar Nellie.

Over at the Sugar Nellie forum on Splitcoast Stampers there is a little thread going on about who might the 'Home Grown' artist be......mysterious! I wonder if we will ever know. But we can sure appreciate his/her talent!

Most of the card is self-explanatory, but I will tell you about the leaves on the left hand corner of the image. These are little accessory stamps from the Autumn kit. I stamped them and coloured with prismacolor pencils then painted over with Shimmerz Blingz for a subtle sparkle! Not too much as it is a boys card!

I just want to let you know that today the new 'Belles and Whistles' stamps go on pre-order today at Quixotic Paperie. These stamps are beautiful and designed by the wonderfully talented Elisabeth Bell. You can also grab yourself some of the Prima flowers new E line and some of their gorgeous pearl centre and swirls. (I already have!)

Quixotic Paperie Monthly Mini Challenge!

Good afternoon my friends!

Welcome to the very first Quixotic Paperie Monthly Mini Challenge. The way it works is that all the DT plus the months Guest DT will all be given the same image but with different embellishments to play with. We all post on the same day and a prize will be given to a random commentator. The prize draw will close at 1pm on Wednesday 23rd September (GMT), so you have one week to hop around the DT blogs and post your comments to be in with a chance of the prize!

The prize this month will be the following package:

1 x Shaela Fairy & Sentiment stamp
1 x Shimmerz Pixie Dust
1 x Pack of Mixed Charms

So obviously this month we were all given the Shaela Fairy image and sentiment by Paper Makeup Stamps to play with!

Now this stamp calls for a lot of sparkle so I used stickles for the wings and wand and the rest was coloured with copics. The papers are all MME 'Laundry Line' and I followed the sketch on Create4fun. Always nice to have a sketch to follow!

I had planned on making a matching notebook to make a little gift set but the klutz that I am managed to drop a black inkpad on my other image that Elaine has stamped for us! DOH!! So just a card it is! Maybe next time I'll do a little gift set!The cardstock I used is core'dinations cardstock so you can sand the edges to reveal a lighter core and a slightly distressed effect. You can see the effect on the flowers and the edge of the sentiment.

So if you want to be in with a chance of this months prize you need to leave a comment here and on the other DT blogs. You won't be disappointed..these girls work is all so different and so fabulous!

So here are the blogs to visit:
Elaine, Kim, Carole, Rowena and Jo (our guest DT).

Finally...today is my blogaversary...how fast does a year fly! Tomorrow I will be posting up my one year candy!

Thanks for stoppin by!

An Autumn Day

Well, hello my lovely crafty friends! I hope you can feel my excitement through the internet!! I was sooooo chuffed to receive my Sugar Nellie DT kit through the post on Saturday. The anticipation has been killing me!! I also knew that I had people coming over for Sunday lunch so I would not be playing on Sat night or all day on Sunday...so finally last night I got a chance to ink up some of my fabulous new Autumn kit!

I just adore this set and I think autumn is my fave time of year for card making. I love the deep rich earthy colours...even MORE than I love the sparkle of Christmas! Without further ado I would like to present to you my Sugar Nellie DT card.

I have coloured the image with a mixture of copics and pencils. The image is done with pencils and the background is done with copics. The papers are all from the DCWV 'Crafty Stack' and I have loosely followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday.
The autumn kit has some gorgeous little additional images which are perfect for decorating the insides of your cards. This cute hedgehog is coloured with prismas and then cut out with nesties.

Thanks for popping by and I hope to be back tomorrow for some Quixotic Paperie fun! And I have just noticed that my blogaversary is racing towards me fast...I will have some blog candy to share real soon!

Thanks for stopping by. Catch you all again tomorrow!

Warmest Wishes

Hello everyone! How are you all ? Oh, I have had a busy weekend and have missed popping round to see all your lovely creations. I hope to do some blog hopping today to catch up.

Today is another day where Janny, Dena and myself will share a card we have each made using the same image. We decided this week to use one of Mo's fabulous digital images. After some deliberating on which one to use we plumped with Noelle Bearing Gifts.

This is such a beautiful image but it stretched me on my colouring skills! This was attempt no.2. Number 1 ended in the bin.....the colours just didn't look right together! I am happier with this attempt.

The papers are all from SU 'Ski Slope' series. The snowflakes are made with Spellbiners dies and I borrowed a tip from my friend Kathy. I added white acrylic paint to the tips of the snowflakes just like she has done on some of her cards. Finally, the tag is made fom stamping a magnolis script stamp and then it is inked with 'Tea dye' for the aged look.

Thanks for popping by and I hope you have time to check out what Janny and Dena have done with the image.

My first ever Sugar Nellie DT kit laned on my doormat this weekend, so I hope to have my 1st ever DT card to show you tomorrow. Yippee!

bye for now,

Sugar Bowl #19 Marlene's Sketch

Good Morning and I hope you are all well today! It is time again for another Sugar Bowl challenge. This time Marlene has given us a gorgeous sketch to work with the extra option of pink and brown. A beautiful classic combination.
I chose to colour 'Demure' which I have coloured with copics. The papers I have used are all Basic Grey 'Blush' collection. The flowers you can probably recognise as the ones Rach has recently shown a tutorial for on her blog. I loved them and decided to have a go making them. They are spritzed with pearl glimmer mist...hopefully you can see a little sparkle! They are all made from the scraps of the Basic Grey paper. I love it when you can economical with everything!

I even managed to find time to finish and photograph the insides....I must have been organised this week! Oh I know what it was.....Peter started nursery this week so I have a few extra hours to play with!
I hope you manage to find time to play and create something with this sketch as the fantastic prize this time is the brand new set of Mary Hall stamps which have been previewed earlier on this week on the Sugar Nellie blog. These images are just super cute!!!

Be sure and go and check out the other girls cards on the Sugar Bowl blog..they have made some amazing cards this week. So totally gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by! I love to hear your comments...don't be shy!!

A little birdie told me.......

Hello my crafty friends...well here with us today it is dull and dreich! A very autumnal day!

Today I have a card to show which Janny and Dena, my fellow Sugar Nellie DT members, will also be sharing. We decided this week to colour 'A Little Birdie Told Me' from Gorjuss set 1.

I decided I wanted to try a scrappy look which Tiets does so fantastically. So my card is inspired by her style. I am really pleased with how it turned out and I don't often say that about my own cards!!

The image is coloured with prisma colour pencils and blended with sansador. All the edges have been inked with 'Walnut Stain' Distress Ink.

You will have seen a lot of these circular sentiments recently. I just love them and my dear friend Kathy kindly sent some to me.I chose to decorate the inside in the same layout and papers as the outside.

Thanks for popping by and I hope you have time to check out the blogs of Janny and Dena. You won't be dissappointed!

Before I go I want to let you know about the adorable new Stampavie stamps that Elaine now has over at Quixotic Paperie. She has the new Helz Cuppleditch and Sarah Kay stamps in stock NOW!

You Make Me Smile!

Just a quickie today! I have my sister staying today and she is leaving later on so don't want to spend the morning on the computer!

My card today features a very cute hAnglar boy who has been coloured with prismacolor pencils and blended with sansador. I have followed the sketch on this weeks Friday Sketchers which is nice and simple which I like so you can put your own take on it.

The edges have been inked with Hero Arts Shadow Ink called 'Soft Stone'. I am not very happy with the inking on the edge of the image. I noticed a little tiny black smudge on it. So I took a rubber to try and rub it out, but the paper started tearing and leaving it worse than it looked before. So I tried to cover the ripped off parts by inking it a bit more! It doesn't show up too much on the photo but I had wanted my inking to be a bit more subtle! I should have just left it as it was!!

You might have been expecting a card from me today where you could go and visit Janny and Dena's blog to check out how they have done the same image.....well you might just have to check back tomorrow!!

Before I go, have you seen the gorgeous new sneaky peeks from Sugar Nellie? These are 2 of the new stamps that are coming out in the next few weeks from Mary Hall.Perfect! Can't wait for all this new rubba!

Thanks for popping by and I will be back tomorrow!

Have a very sunny Monday!

Originality!!

Good morning my lovely crafty girlies!

I hope you are well today and it is Friday..yeah!!

For todays card I have again followed this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers but this time I have followed the option of blue and orange. It is such a fablous colour combo I couldn't not give it a try. I know I am too late to enter it but I loved making it anyway.

The papers I have used are DCWV 'Citrus Stack' which is just bursting with blues and oranges and for the image I have used the fabulously funky Manga Girl from Sugar Nellie.
She is coloured with copics and on her hair I have added some copic clear glitter pen.

The sentiment comes from the die-cuts that came with the paper stack and the flowers are prima with a bit of bling for the centre.

Well I don't know about you but I am back to taking my photos indoors this week...bleugh..just been wet and rainy. Maybe next week the sun will come out for an Indian Summer???

Before I go I want to tell you about all the fabulous goodies that Elaine has got in her store, Quixotic Paperie, this week.

Pearls - restocks of the old colours and some new ones!

Ribbons - satin cutout ribbons and sheer spiderweb ribbon

The Greeting Farm stamps including Dressy Miss Anya and Spooktacular! Oh and the Limited Edition Hippie Anya (when she's gone, she's gone).

Charms - of course, more charms...

So there is something for everyone! For me I am going to go and check out the fabulous new Greeting Farm Stamps...I just love the new ones they have out now.

Thanks for stopping back and I appreciate each and everyone of your lovely comments!
Hugs Judy xx

oh P.S. I have played about with my blog and not quite managed to to get it all sorted yet. Just trying to get a photo into the header at the top.....bear with me ......

Noel......already???

I ordered some gorgeous papers and ribbon from Elaine the other week and as I was picked to be on the DT I have set about cutting into some of these absolutely stunning papers for this next card!! The papers are MME Signature Christmas range and they are utterly stunning. Some of them are embossed and glittered. I said to myself I wasn't going to do Christmas cards well into Autumn but I persuaded hubbie to go up to the loft to get down my Christmas box of crafty goodies just so I could use this paper!

I decided to follow this weeks sketch from Claudia on Friday Sketchers and have followed this weeks colour combo on Everybody Art Challenge of blue and brown.

I coloured Tilda with a mixture of copics and pencils and cut her out and mounted her on a piece of the DP. The crochet ribbon is also from Quixotic Paperie...oh and I think I am going to be using a lot of that!!
I have been inspired by the insides of Elaine's cards ...so classy and such a tidy finished effect. So in honour of her, my card is decorated inside with her inpsiration in mind!!

Thanks for popping by! I am hoping to have just a teeny weeny bit more free time on my hands now. My youngest started nursery today and boy was he ready for it. You Mums out there will be with me on this one...I get a whole 2 hours a day to have the house to myself!! Whoop whoop!!

Back very soon,
Judy x
